The Officers and Directors welcome our “Seasonal Friends” as they slowly begin returning to the area. Their next several weeks will be busy as they plan the transfer of their mail, winterize their houses and pack for the next several months in the warm sunshine. Don’t forget your flip flops, the kids and grand-kids phone numbers, so that you can send them numerous pictures of lounging on the beach and dining outdoors, and your friendly smile that we have so missed. We are looking forward to seeing you at our meetings and fun events throughout your stay, and welcome any volunteers to join our fun group as we continue to carry out the plans for our fall and winter schedule.

We are happy to announce that with the support and guidance of the Barefoot Bay HOA, the Senior Advocacy Committee is working diligently to get a robust Senior program up and running in the Bay.  Our goal is to have the full program ready to launch sometime in December.  The Committee members are meeting with the Director of SHINE and the CEO of Aging Matters from Brevard County to gain the necessary Support this program will need to make it a full service support for the Senior residents in Barefoot Bay.

It is the Goal of the HOA Senior Advocacy of Barefoot Bay to be a value plus program that complements and fits with the Helping Hands, Safety and Security (Smoke Detector, CERT) and Shopping and Daily Lunch transportation programs already in existence.

The HOASAP (Homeowners Association Senior Advocacy Program) will offer a variety of free benefits to our Seniors.  Many, but not nearly all of the services this program will be able to offer qualified Seniors, include Home assistance services, meals to those that may be homebound due to illness, disability or isolation, volunteer drivers to provide transportation for ambulatory, non-driving, homebound seniors who need rides to important appointments or events, installation of grab bars as well as free unbiased health insurance counseling through a network of volunteers, empowering the Bay Homeowners to make informed healthcare choices.

The HOASAP will be a total resource for the Bay Homeowners as needed for making our Senior Years truly Golden and enable us all to enjoy this Paradise we have chosen to live our life in.
